Utah and Colorado, April 2014

Combined a work trip with some mtn. bike riding and getting a Harley Davidson Fatboy Firefighter Edition motorcycle out to son and DIL Traci. We met in Denver and they headed back to NM while I headed off to UT after leaving the trailer with friends to pickup on the way back home.

Grandson Jason checking out the HD while still in Wisconsin.

Loaded up ready to head west.

Mary's Loop, Kokopelli Trail west of Grand Junction, CO. Only had time to do Rustlers Loop and Horsethief Loop. Got caught in a rain/hail storm in Horsethief....then headed on to Salt Lake City for a few days of work.
I rode these trails back in 2008 under better conditions and when I had more time. One of my favorite photos....

Desert sage in bloom. Snowing back home in WI.

South of Salt Lake City near the town of Lindon some trails out near the Big Baldy Loop. Looks like the Elk had a tough winter/spring. One was a bull, walked around a little looking for sheds but no luck.

Later in the day got into Colorado and rode the Lunch Loops just out of Grand Junction. Some great riding there. There are a multitude of trails to pick from. I chose going up on the Eagles connectors and coming down Holy Cross. You can't go wrong. Met some locals in the parking lot, of which there had to be 50-60 cars in the parking lot on a Thursday afternoon.

Bikers and runners use the trails.

Parking lot for Lunch Loops.

The next day was Deer Canyon on the Front Range near Denver. Not a great ride up, Jeep trail, but once on top a nice couple loops.
Decent climb, back in the snow.

Winter Training 2013 1.5

Stoney Creek Trail.  Near Harrisburg. Sunset.

Full moon rising.....

D & R Canal Trail. Starting in Yardley, PA. Part of Washington Crossing of the Delaware. Out on the PA side, back on the NJ side. With brother and nephew (god-son).

Horsethief Loop, Furita, CO

Rustler Loop to warm-up then Horsethief. Got caught in a rain/hail storm for all of Horsethief. 42 degrees made for cold ride not to mention the rain/hail making for a wet one as well.
Captured this sage in bloom before the weather hit. Did this ride back in 2008.

Last Group Fat Bike Ride, 2014

A good write-up by a friend. Me on the far left with the bike raised.

Got my 9:zero:0 finally. Nice ride....real nice.
Named her Miss Piggy, cause she just eats it all up.
