Europe 2016, Nuremberg

We boarded a bus in Prague and drove through the Czech and German countryside for a couple of hours on our way to Nuremberg, where we boarded our River Boat.

We were actually starting on the canal that flows south which then connects to the Danube. The canal connects the Main River to the Danube (and actually to the Rhine, as well) and is called the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal.
Along the drive we stopped at a McDonalds....we got some fries which were great!, just to compare and also some local brews to enjoy in the bus.
The countryside was similar to the upper Midwest, rolling hills but with a hint of larger, steeper mills in the distance.
Once on the boat we got settled in we did a bus tour and also did a little walking in the Town Square.
Nothing caught my eye to take a picture of and as it was Sunday, not much was open. I did scoot across town by foot to the subway station to buy a few cigars for the boat trip as nothing else was open.
Canal is in light blue below, Danube in dark blue.

Iola Snow Bully, 2017

Was able to defend my Dinosaur Division from last year. 55+
Ok, there were only 4 of us.....but I also finished 18th out of 46 in the 2 hr. race...vs. the Skirt Race of 1 hr......ok, I did finish 3 laps back, but it was hilly!
Not as soft as last year and hard enough that the top guys were cruising pretty well.
